Jr. Meteors defeat Owego, remain unbeaten
The Montrose Junior Football Meteors “B” team kicked off Meteor Pink Out week by coming out wearing pink socks to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness.
The Meteors have just as big of hearts on the field as they do off and continued to play dominating football with only thirteen young men.
“Touchdown” Bryden Jerauld would find the end zone four times to bring his season total to 26 touchdowns. Jerauld scored on his first run of the day which was a 65 yarder on the second play from scrimmage.
The Owego Indians fought their way down the field and would score at the 7:12 mark of the first quarter. A minute and 4 seconds later Jerauld would sprint 60 yards to give the Meteors a lead they would not relinquish on their way to a 40-12 win over Owego.
Jerauld would also have a 30 yard rushing touchdown. Before the first half would end quarterback Chucky Rohan would find Jerauld open for a 20 yard pass completion that would end with a touchdown.
Jerauld also converted two 2 point conversion kicks. After the crowd was delighted by the MJF “B” Squad Cheerleaders dance routine during halftime, the Meteors defense continued to show their ferocity which included a fumble recovery by “The Big Guy” Jerry Fassett.
Donoven Baker fought his way 10 yards for a Meteor touchdown and Chucky Rohan would score from one yard out on the keeper to complete the Meteors scoring for the day.
The Baker’s Dozen will head into the playoffs next weekend with their sights set on Super Bowl 13.
