Swimmers off to states


Starting today, two athletes from Elk Lake will compete in the PIAA state swimming championships at Bucknell University in Lewisburg.

Adam Phillips, an Elk Lake junior, is listed as the number six seed in the Class AA boys 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.93. Zach Stephens of Bloomsburg is the top seed with a time of 57.80.

In the 200 IM, Phillips is listed as the 16th seed of 32 with a time of 2:03.54. The top time is from Bloomsburg’s Stephens at 1:54.40.

Elk Lake’s Chelsea Karabin is listed as the 25th seed out of 32 in the Class AA girls 50 freestyle with a time of 25.21. The top time comes from Central Columbia’s


Katie Saloky at 23.89.
