BR defeats Montrose volleyball

The Blue Ridge girls’ volleyball team picked up a 3-2 victory over Montrose Area at home on Tuesday evening.

Blue Ridge was led by Kaylee Ragard with four aces, two blocks, six digs and 10 kills while Kristen Brown had three aces, eight digs, one block and six kills.

Allison Coller had one ace, 10 digs, one block and four kills and Ashley Warren added 15 assists and four digs.

Montrose was paced by Dallas Ely with 12 kills, nine digs and two aces while Brooke Malloy had seven kills, 13 digs and five aces, Emily Swingle had seven kills and Miranda Dunne had 17 assists and three aces.

Blue Ridge topped the Meteors 25-21, 15-25, 16-25, 25-22 and 15-8.


The Susquehanna Lady Saber volleyball team grabbed a 3-2 win over Montrose in a home match on Thursday evening.

Devin Breese had nine kills, 10 digs and 11 points and Danielle Barnes had eight kills, 13 assists and nine points to pace the sabers as they topped the Meteors 14-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22 and 15-7.

Courtney Arthur added eight kills, three digs and eight points and Amber Dubanowitz had two kills, two blocks, 10 points and five digs for the Sabers.

For Montrose, Dallas Ely had eight kills, eight digs and one ace, Katie Volk had six kills and four blocks and Miranda Dunne had nine assists and three digs.

Mountain View

The Mountain View girls’ volleyball team grabbed a 3-2 win over Susquehanna at home on Tuesday.

Melissa Monahan led the Eagles with 11 kills and two aces whiel Kerri Jarnagin added eight aces and six assists and Taylor Nally had 13 assists and four aces.

For the Sabers, Alexis Rowe had five kills, Ashley Sweeney had nine digs and 12 assists and Danielle Barnes added six kills and 12 points with five aces and 19 digs.

Mountain View downed the Sabers 30-28, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-8.

Forest City

The Forest City girls’ volleyball team took a 3-2 victory over Western Wayne on the road Thursday after the team was handed a 3-2 loss by Abington Heights at home on Tuesday evening.

On Thursday, Courtney Andrews had 16 points, three aces, six blocks, 10 kills, six assists and 18 digs and Kristine Kuriger had 27 points, two aces, six blocks, four kills, four assists and three digs as the Foresters defeated the Wildcats 25-16, 27-25, 11-25, 24-26 and 15-10.

Sarah Kubus added 27 points and 10 assists and Stephanie Ramos had nine points, three kills, one assists and 15 digs.

Against Abington, the Foresters were defeated 11-25, 9-25, 25-20, 26-24 and 11-15 by Abington as Andrews had 10 service points, four kills, four blocks, 15 digs and one assist.

K. Kuriger had 14 service points, one kills, four blocks, three digs and three assists. Samantha Kuriger had 13 points, two kills and 10 blocks and Morgan Saul added 16 points, five aces, one kill, one assist and 11 digs.
