Elk Lake field hockey improves to 9-2 on year

The  Elk Lake field hockey team took a 5-0 win at home over Montrose on Wednesday and a 3-1 victory overHanoveron Tuesday.

Facing Montrose, Steven Paskalitis started a Warrior scoring rally at9:24in the first half.

Trevor Gowin and Dylan Simmons then each added an unassisted goal before Gowin would connect a second time off an assist from Kristy Krishak and Jeremy Schwarztrauber scored the final goal with an assist from Paskalitis.

ElkLakehad nine shots on goal and nine corners while goalie Brooke Seamans had three saves.

Montrose had three shots on goal and one corner while goalie Taylor Wright had one save.

Gowin got scoring started off with an assist from Vanessa Otis at5:30in the first half, beforeHanoverwould tie things up at12:17.

However, the Warriors scored again off another Gowin goal at 25:11 to hang on to a 2-1 lead at halftime.

After the break, Paskalitis, who also assisted on Gowin’s second goal, found the cage at 43:08 as the Warriors took the win.

ElkLakehad four shots on goal and four corners while goalie Luke Myers had three saves on the day.
