‘King of the Can’ event rescheduled for Nov. 13
After losing Friday’s scheduled ‘King of the Can’ event to wet weather, rain again intervened at Penn Can Speedway on Sunday afternoon, forcing the event’s postponement for a second time.
With an all-star field of 40 Modifieds pitside that included Kevin Hartnett, Brian Weaver, Kevin Bates, Alan Johnson, Stewart Friesen, Pat Ward, Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard and many more, showers first moved over the Susquehanna, Pa., area when the gates opened at 2 p.m. and continued on and off for several hours. The event promotional team of track managers Reed Miller and Al Wilcox and special events promoter Brett Deyo attempted to wait out the weather. However, heavier rain moved over the speedway shortly after5 p.m.forcing the postponement.
After carefully considering the best possible rain date available, the event will be made up on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 13, with gates opening at1 p.m., hot laps at3 p.m.and racing at4 p.m.
Drivers already at the speedway for the original date will maintain their draw numbers. Any newcomers will pick from the numbers remaining in the draw bucket at the time of the postponement.
