Scrapper pleads in thefts

A Hallstead man faces up to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty Friday to two felony theft counts.
Patrick Moser, 20, admitted in county to breaking intoECOInternational on two occasions to steal piping and copper wiring, causing damage to the machinery.
District Attorney Jason Legg said Moser took the items in order to support a drug habit.
Moser is scheduled to be sentenced by President Judge Kenneth Seamans on April 19.
Charges are still pending in the case against Moser’s co-defendant, Daniel Alicea.
Legg said the building, located off Rt. 171 in Great Bend Twp., has been “scrapped” multiple times.
Legg said police believe others, in addition to Moser and Alecia, have also taken piping and copper from the facility in the past.
Others who entered guilty pleas Friday, March 23 included:
Barry Witmer, 46, of Slatington, to DUI in connection with a Sept. 10, 2011 incident in New Milford Twp. He was sentenced to serve a 30-day mandatory sentence with credit for time served.
Jeremiah Quackenbush, 32, Thompson, to indecent assault in connection with an incident on Sept. 17, 2011 in Susquehanna. He was sentenced to serve three months.
Burton Daniels, 54,Kirkwood,N.Y., to theft by unlawful taking in connection with a Nov. 20, 2010 incident.
Darl Ellis, 46, to home improvement fraud in connection with an August 2011 incident in Lenox Twp. Ellis was sentenced to serve five years probation.
Tonya Birchard, to theft by unlawful taking in connection with a Dec. 3, 2011 incident in Springville Twp.
Dustin Johnson, 27, Montrose, to theft by unlawful taking in connection with Nov. 2011 incidents in Rush Twp. and Montrose.
Kelly Clark, 43,NewarkVCalley,N.Y., to DUI in connection with a Nov. 15, 2011 incident in Susquehanna.
