Fake urine sample nets probation

An 18-year-oldNew Milfordman admitted he attempted to tamper with a urine sample he was asked to provide in March while on probation in Susquehanna County.
Dylan Brewer pleaded guilty Monday to the misdemeanor count of furnishing drug free urine – use or attempt in Montrose District Court.
Brewer was sentenced by District Judge Jeffrey Hollister to serve 12 months on probation for the offense.
According to the affidavit, Brewer was asked by his probation officer to submit a urine sample on March 26.
He told the officer he was unable to provide it while the officer was in the restroom with him. The officer then allowed him to attempt to provide the sample without being present.
Brewer then produced a specimen for testing. But, according to the affidavit, unlike a typical urine sample, the specimen turned in by Brewer was not warm.
According to the complaint, Brewer had used urine from a bottle he had hidden in the front pocket of his pants.
He said he had used marijuana the week prior to reporting to probation and was concerned it would show in his urine sample, according to the affidavit.
