Raiders spike Elk Lake
The Blue Ridge boys’ volleyball team edged outElkLakeat home on Tuesday night in a 3-2 victory.
The Raiders took an early 2-0 lead with 25-15 and 25-17 wins, before Elk Lake got on the board with a pair of wins, 25-17 and 25-19, to tie things up at two apiece.
However,Blue Ridgetopped the Warriors 15-9 in the final set to take the win.
Aric Curry had seven kills and three blocks forElkLakewhile Jared Berg had six kills and six blocks and Andrew Gramberg had 17 points.
Mountain View
Mountain View’s boys’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss fromWestern Wayneat home on Thursday and a 3-0 loss atAbingtonHeightson Tuesday night.
AgainstWestern Wayne, the Wildcats defeated the Eagles in straight sets, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-12.
ForMountain View, Brad Owens had 10 kills, six digs and one ace and Nathan Moyer added 20 assists, three kills and two blocks.
On Tuesday, the Eagles were defeated in three consecutive sets, 25-19, 26-24 and 29-27, to face the loss from the 7-2 Abington team.
Owens ledMountain Viewwith 13 kills and 11 digs, Moyer had 25 assists and one block and Michael Lamberson had nine kills, eight digs and two blocks.
Susquehanna
The Susquehanna Saber boys’ volleyball team took a 3-0 loss from Lackawanna Trail at home on Tuesday evening.
The Lions came out to take down the Sabers in three consecutive sets, 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15, to take the win over Susquehanna.
Doug Bishop had six kills and four blocks for Susquehanna. Mike Frye added 11 assists, nine digs and three blocks and Steven Frye had six kills and six blocks.
Forest City
TheForestCityboys’ volleyball team was handed a 3-1 loss fromWestern Wayneon the road on Tuesday night.
The Foresters fell behind early as the Wildcats won the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-22, before they would win the third set, 25-23, to make it a 2-1 match.
However,Western Waynecame out to win the fourth set 25-17 to pin the loss onForestCity.
Dave Cavalieri led the Foresters with 16 kills and two aces. JP Hernandez had seven blocks and Ben Komar had six kills. Logan McHale added two aces, five blocks, two kills and six assists.
Wade Loomis added four blocks and five kills and Ryan Long added 13 assists.
