Cubs follow scouting trail

Five Cub Scouts from Pack 81, Susquehanna, completed the Cub Scout trail from Tiger Cub to Webelos II and cross over the bridge to Boy Scouts.
Anthony Dolfini, Aaron Rockwell, Cody MacDonald, Adam Rockwell and Kevin Silfee all received the Arrow of Light and were welcomed at the end of the bridge by Boy Scouts from Troop 81 during the Blue and Gold Banquet held on Saturday, May 19, at theSusquehannaElementary School.
Troop 81 included two Eagle Scouts, George Wilkes who was the narrator for the advancement ceremony, and Donald Cottrell who was the bugler.
The advancement ceremony saw each level of Cubs, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I and Webelos II receive their awards before Cubmaster Dave Jenkins and Assistant Cubmaster TJ Heller; leaders Shawn Burns, Aaron Rockwell, Nate Williams, Rachel Benson, Shannon Martin, Dave Jenkins, Terry Rockwell, Tom Nitterour and parents assisted with the changing of neckerchief to denote each Cub’s change in rank.
Silfee received the Webelos Super Achiever award and he, along with all the other Arrow of Light recipients were congratulated and wished the best as they move on to Troop 81, BSA.
Tammy Heller was chairman for the Blue and Gold Banquet and was assisted by committee members: Clark Collins, Diane Sabatelli, Christen Beamer, and Todd Heller. Canawacta Lodge, F&AM served the chicken barbecue, that also included hot dogs if anyone so desired. Sara Kolenda said Grace before the dinner.
Certificates of Appreciation were presented to those supporting Pack 81. Peter Niven, president of the Stone Bridge Lions Club, assisted Committee Chair Heller as she recognized not only the Lions Club, the Pack and Troop sponsor; but also: Chikkie Hansen, granddaughter of the late Ira Reynolds, for all her many contributions of Ira’s memorabilia; Canawacta Lodge, F&AM; Thompson Lodge F&AM; Susquehanna Community School District; Susquehanna and Thompson Fire Departments; American Legion, Post 86; Loyal Order of Moose; Lanesboro Community Center; PennStar; Peoples Banks; Reddon’s Drug Store; Schneider’s and Fred’s Markets; Tri-Boro Municipal Authority; Susquehanna County Independent; Susquehanna Transcript; and Adam’s Cable, Channel 7.
