Lady Meteors win over Foresters

The Montrose Area girls’ soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory overForestCityat home on Thursday afternoon.

Meghan Gilhool scored for the Meteors at23:28in the first half to put them up 1-0, before Sarah Lundy would connect on a second half goal at 60:52 to seal the victory.

Montrose had seven shots on goal and two corners while goalie Anna Churco had 16 saves.

ForestCitytook 16 shots on goal with three corner kicks. Forester goalie Kaylie Gigliotti had five saves.

TheMountain Viewgirls’ soccer team took an 8-0 victory at home overElkLakeon Thursday, after a 4-2 victory overForestCityon the road on Tuesday evening.

FacingElkLake, Jenny Molenko had two goals and an assist while Makenna Whitaker and Ali Virbitsky each had a pair of goals and Karlee Weida and Morgan Zrowka each added a goal.

Mountain Viewhad 29 shots on goal and five corners while goalie Hannah Phillips had three saves.

ElkLaketook three shots on goal and no corners while goalie Lindsay Dudock had 16 saves.

AgainstForestCity,Mountain Viewscored four goals in the second half in the span of 13 minutes to pick up the victory.

Molenko led the eagles with a goal and an assist while Whitaker, Zrowka and Megan Getz also scored forMountain View.

ForestCityhad goals from Meagan Goben and Kylie Besz in the loss.

The Eagles had 21 shots on goal and two corners while goalie Caity Tague racked up 19 saves.
