Mt. View boys shut out Dunmore, Carbondale

The Mountain View boys’ soccer team took a 7-0 win at home overCarbondaleon Friday after the team grabbed a 6-0 victory overDunmoreat home on Wednesday.

Facing Carbondale Colby Thomas had a pair of goals and an assist while Zeb Cross added a pair of goals.

Ed Bognatz, Sam Flannery and Colin Davis also scored in the victory asMountain Viewtook 20 shots on goal with eight corners. Goalie Bob Pfahl had three saves.

On Wednesday, C. Thomas scored three goals and Cross had a goal and three assists to lead the Eagles.

Dylan Thomas and Bognatz also scored for the Eagles in the victory.

Mountain Viewhad 35 shots on goal and five corners while Pfahl had one save.

Blue Ridge

TheBlue Ridgeboys’ soccer team faced a 3-1 loss to Mid Valley on the road Friday after a 4-2 loss to Old Forge at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Facing Mid Valley,Blue Ridgegot scoring kicked off as Joey Zawiski scored off a pass from Juan Hernandez.

However, Mid Valley scored a goal in the first half to tie things up before knocking in two more in the second half to take the win.

Blue Ridgehad 10 shots on goal and one corner while goalie Dan Braun had 10 saves.

On Wednesday, the Raiders got an early lead off a goal from Billy Rupakus, assisted by Zawiski at3:27.

However, Old Forge would come back to tie things up with a goal at17:08.

To start the second half,Blue Ridge’s Juan Andez scored at 55:22 with an assist from Zawiski, but three consecutive unanswered goals from Old Forge doomed the Raiders.

Blue Ridgehad 25 shots on goal and five corners while Braun had 14 saves.

Forest City

TheForestCityboys’ soccer team took a 2-0 loss to Holy Cross on the road Friday after a 3-1 loss on Wednesday byLakelandat home.

Against Holy Cross, the Crusaders socred a pair of second half goals to top the Foresters.

ForestCityhad 10 shots on goal and two corners while goalie Matt Hardman had 16 saves.

On Wednesday, the Foresters fell behind in the first half asLakelandscored at 38:15.

Lakelandthen came out to score a pair of goals in the second half to make it 3-0.ForestCity’s Alex Kresock scored off an assist from Ryan Long but it wasn’t enough to overcome theLakelandlead.

ForestCityhad 10 shots on goal and six corners while Hardman had 12 saves.

Montrose

The Montrose boys’ soccer team faced a 5-0 loss from Holy Cross at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Holy Cross scored one first half goal and four more in the second half to upend the Meteors.

Montrose had 12 shots on goal and five corners while goalie Justin Hartman had three saves and Andreas Mittman had seven saves.

Elk Lake

The Elk Lake boys’ soccer team faced a 3-1 loss toLakelandin a game played on Chiefs territory on Friday.

Lakelandgot ahead early in the contest with three first half goals to put the Warriors at a 3-0 deficit at halftime.

Elk Lake’s Tyler Arnold scored a goal with7:29remaining in the contest but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Chiefs.

Elk Lake took 10 shots on goal and had three corners while goalie Nick Dudock had seven saves.
