Montrose, Elk Lake, Forest City post soccer wins

The Elk Lake boys’ soccer team took an 8-1 victory over Old Forge on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

Tyler Arnold and Tanner Reyen each scored three goals to lead Elk Lake.

Cody Franssen and Alex Manzek also scored for the Warriors.

Elk Lake (2-1) outshot the Blue Devils, 19-8.

Forest City

The Forest City boys’ soccer team grabbed a 2-1 win over Mid Valley on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

Mid Valley got on the board first with a first half goal, but Forest City opened the first half with Ryan Long scoring on a corner kick at 65:31, and Wayde Loomis scored the winning goal at 72:20 off an assist from Long.

Forest City had 14 shots on goal and four corners while goalie Matt Hardman-Zimmerman had six saves.

Montrose

Montrose Area’s boys’ soccer team grabbed a 2-1 win over Dunmore on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

Montrose fell behind early as Dunmore scored at 6:08, but Eric Burgh tied the game at 19:12 with an assist from Troy Ely.

The Meteors then had a second half goal at 63:26 from Kyle Watkins with an assist from Burgh to take the win.

Montrose had 14 shots on goal and 14 corners while goalie Travis Birchard had three saves.
