EL hockey defeated twice

The Elk Lake field hockey team faced a 4-0 at Pittston on Saturday after taking a 4-2 loss to Tunkhannock on the road on Thursday evening.

On Saturday, Pittston used three first half goals and one in the second half to get past Elk Lake.

Elk Lake had eight shots on goal and six corners while goalie Luke Myers picked up seven saves.

Against Tunkhannock, the Tigers got on the board first as Cheyenne Hunsinger scored unassisted at 25:38 in the first half.

Jess Yagloski then scored on an assist from Liz Franko at 18:39 to put the Tiger up 2-0.

Elk Lake’s Steve Paskaitis got Elk Lake’s first goal as he found the cage at 13:36, before Haylee Underwood would give Tunkhannock the 3-1 advantage off a pass from Becky O’Neill at 11:31.

After halftime, Marley Mason scored with an assist from Franko at 20:04 to give the Tigers a 4-1 advantage.

Elk Lake’s Logan Adams scored at 11:32, but Tunkhannock ran away with the win.

Elk Lake had eight shots on goal and three corners while Myers had 14 saves.
