SCSD employees serve community dinner
BY HELEN B. FOSTER
Susquehanna Community School District held its second annual Community Dinner on November 10.
The ham and scalloped potato dinner was open to all residents of the district with Superintendent Bronson Stone making a call to all school families to invite them to this special event.
Fall foliage decorated tables set up in the elementary gym and those enjoying the delicious meal, were also treated to a variety of cakes and drinks. The faculty and staff served 50 people at the school and sent meals to Turnpike Terrace. They also provided meals to a church congregation.
According to Kathleen Hinkley, president of the teacher’s association, the faculty and staff wanted to do something special for the community and for the second year decided on a community meal to say thank you for all they have today.
Hinkley said they plan to continue this event, with another meal being planned for next year in hopes more school families will participate.
Other officers, besides Hinkley are: vice president Jami Hyndshaw; secretary Dawn Steele; treasurer Lawrence Tompkins.
