Lyle Oakes of Montrose was selected as the recipient of the 2013 Jack Masters Award for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Susquehanna County Republican Party.
The late Jack Masters was a lifelong Republican and a Susquehanna County Commissioner who is remembered each year at the Republican Lincoln Day Dinner.
County Chairman Mike Redding said without Oakes’ support, along with Carmel Siarianni, Ken Adams, Jack Masters and others we would not have the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center at Elk Lake.
The award was presented to Oakes by Jack’s widow, Carol Masters, who initiated this award to be presented to a party member who believes in the principles of the Republican Party and gives oneself to worthwhile organizations that benefit others.
