Lady Warriors slug past Foresters

The Elk Lake softball team handed Forest City a 10-0 loss in five innings on Forester territory on Tuesday.

In the Division IV matchup, Elk Lake scored two runs in the first and third innings to take a 4-0 lead.

The Warriors then added a run in the fourth and five more in the fifth to take a mercy-rule victory.

Debbie Harvey was the winning pitcher firing a four-hitter with three strikeouts and just one walk.
Sara Kwiatkowski and Becca Phillips each drove in three runs to lead the Warriors.

Lindsey Dudock had three hits and scored once while Laura Gacha added a pair of singles.

Forest City had hits from Martines, O’Neill, F. Stratford and S. Stratford.

F. Stratford took the pitching loss giving up 13 hits, nine earned runs and five walks while striking out four in five innings.
