Lady Foresters downed by Old Forge

The Forest City softball team was dealt a 10-2 loss from Old Forge in the District II Class A playoffs on Blue Devil territory on Thursday.

Old Forge got ahead early in the game, amassing a 7-0 lead by the end of the third inning.

In the fourth, Old Forge increased its lead to 9-0, before Forest City would come through with two runs in the fifth to make it 9-2.

The Blue Devils, however, continued to hold the lead and added a 10th run in the fifth as they cruised to a win.

Forest City was led on offense by Katherine Pecko who doubled and scored a run and Alyssa Holliday, who singled and scored.

Franny Stratford took the pitching loss for the Foresters giving up 12 hits, four earned runs and five walks while striking out five in six innings in the circle.

The Foresters finish up the year with a 2-14 record.
