Lady Raiders dropped in semifinals
The Blue Ridge softball team was dealt a 12-2 loss from Lackawanna Trail in five innings in the District II Class A semifinals at Tunnel Hill on Thursday.
Blue Ridge and Trail each scored a run in the first inning to see the score knotted until the third inning when the Lions took a 3-1 lead.
The Raiders then brought the game to 3-2 with a run in the top of the fifth before Lackawanna Trail used a nine-run fifth inning to take the win.
Blue Ridge was led by Rebecca Bayle who hit a single and drove in a run and Taylor Hall who had a hit and scored a run.
Christine Carlsen took the pitching loss giving up 12 hits, 10 earned runs, while walking one in four-and-two-thirds innings in the circle.
Blue Ridge ends its season with a 4-12 record.
