MV softball handed loss
The Mountain View softball team was handed a 9-6 loss from top-seeded Holy Redeemer in the District II Class AA quarterfinals in Kingston on Wednesday.
The No. 8 seed Eagles fell behind early as Holy Redeemer scored a pair in the first inning and three more in the second inning to make it 5-0.
Mountain View answered back with three runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to take a 6-5 lead.
However, Mountain View gave up four runs in the sixth inning to face the 9-6 loss.
Megan Stenzhorn had three singles for the Eagles while Caitlyn Tague had two singles and two RBIs.
Tague took the pitching loss as she gave up eight hits, four earned runs and two walks while striking out three in a six-inning outing.
