Drowning cause of woman’s death


An autopsy revealed drowning caused the death of a woman pulled from a Susquehanna County lake Tuesday afternoon.

Dr. Gary Ross conducted the autopsy Wednesday morning in Scranton.

Pennsylvania State Police at Gibson identified the woman as Jacqueline Ann Thiem, 52, of Union Dale.

Thiem’s body was discovered at about 3:37 p.m., July 23, a short distance from the shore of Lewis Lake on Lake Shore Dr., Herrick Twp., according to the police report issued by Tpr. Greg Deck.

Susquehanna County Corner Anthony Conarton said Thiem’s death was ruled accidental. The date and time of death was found to be Monday, July 22 at about 4 p.m., according to Conarton.
