City wins Dream Game

The City all-stars defeated the County 35-28 in the 79th Scranton Lions Club Dream Game July 31.
It is the City’s fourth straight win and pushes its series record to 39-36-4.
The City capitalized on several highlight-reel moments to add to the exciting game played in front of 6,897 fans at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
Montrose’s John Lawson helped contribute to the City’s defense with six tackles and a sack, while Susquehanna’s Jagr Briar defended a pass.
Montrose’s Will Ely and Susquehanna’s Cole Mallery also played for the City.
Using its size along the line of scrimmage, the County established a punishing running attack that totaled 230 yards on 44 carries and featured nine ball carriers that helped them to take an early lead.
But the City’s abundance of playmakers, led by a gutsy hook-and-lateral conversion for a touchdown in a tied game that helped to swing momentum, won out in the wild and exciting game, though three second half interceptions help keep the County within striking distance.
