Man threatens detectives with gun

A Susquehanna-area man is being held in lieu of $250,000 after he pointed a shotgun at two Susquehanna County Task Force detectives on Sunday, Sept. 8.

The officers arrived on the scene on Starrucca Creek Rd., in Harmony Twp., after William Wayman Jr., 34, threatened to kill himself and also harm two others.

One of the detectives fired at Wayman and missed, according to State Police at Gibson; and Wayman was taken into custody without incident.

Wayman faces two counts of aggravated assault. The charges were filed by Tpr. Greg Deck in New Milford District Court. A preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Jodi Cordner was scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9.
