Lady Eagles wallop Sem

The Mountain View girls’ soccer team made a statement in its opening District 2 Class A first round playoff game Wednesday, easily blanking Wyoming Seminary, 10-0.

The top-seeded Lady Eagles were led by six goals and two assists from Jenny Molenko and three assists from Hannah Richner.

Karlee Weida, Negan Getz, Makenna Whitaker and Alexis Suchnick also chipped in a goal apiece for Mt. View.

Goalie Jaye Winemiller had three saves for the shutout.

The Lady Foresters earned a dramatic 3-2 win over fourth-seeded Lakeland on the road in their District 2 Class A first round game Wednesday.

Meagan Goben scored two goals, including the game winner with 37 seconds remaining in the game, to lead Forest City.

Carly Erdmann also scored for the Lady Foresters, who scored twice in the final 3:12 to earn the win.

Goalie Morgan Gasper had ten saves for Forest City.

The Lady Meteors won 6-0 against Carbondale at home Thursday in the first round girls‘soccer game of the District 2 Class A playoffs and will play at Holy Cross Monday in the semifinals.

Nicki Lewis had a goal and two assists and Myra Lattimore and Hanna Dieck each scored twice to lead Montrose, who outshot the Carbondale offense, 29-1.

Anna Churco had one save in the win.
