The 2014 Susquehanna County Housing and Revelopment Authority calendar and annual report was posthumously dedicated to board member Robert Bartron during the annual meeting held Jan. 17 at the Crystal Lake Hotel.

Bartron, who served on the board from 1980 until the time of his death in 2013, was on the board during the development of the major projects that provide affordable and safe housing for not only senior citizens but also low to middle income residents of the county.

The 2014 SCHRA calendar and annual report was dedicated to Bartron with the epitaph: “And for my sake and in my name, go on and do all things the same.”

Board Chairman Joe Matis, Executive Director Karen Allen and Commissioner Alan Hall spoke of the years Bartron took pride in the work done by the authority on all levels.

Commissioner Hall, along with Allen and Matis also praised the employees for all their hard work to provide good housing for many county residents.
The vacant position on the board of directors, was filled by former executive director, Elaine Andusko.

Andusko was appointed to the board earlier this month by the county commissioners. She has also previously served as deputy executive director for SCHRA before being appointed executive director, a position she held for five years.

SCHRA Housing Choice Voucher Coordinator Kris Lunger, was recognized for her 20 years of service with the agency.

Executive Director Karen Allen presented Lunger with a certificate of appreciation and a gift from the authority.

During the annual meeting, following the regular January meeting, Paul Lukus gave the nominating committee report as follows: Chairman Joe Matis; Vice-Chairman Paul Lukus; Secretary/Treasurer Jerry Cronk; Members, Ken Adams and Elaine Andusko. The report was approved by board members.
In addition to the SCHRA annual meeting, the regular monthly meeting was also held that evening.
