Fight ends in Jessup Twp. killing

The quarrel that led to a Dallas man killing a Montrose man on a Jessup Twp. road last week was over the defendant’s girlfriend, state police at Gibson said.
Paul Paci Jr. fought Russell Allen Fauver on Tuesday night at Shana and Frank’s Pub in Montrose because Paci was told Fauver was “hitting on” Sarah Gregory. The night ended with Fauver’s death.
On Thursday, Susquehanna County Coroner Tony Conarton said Fauver suffered multiple traumatic injuries after he was intentionally run over by a vehicle.
Paci, 22, 44 King St., Dallas, was arrested Wednesday and charged with homicide. He is in the Susquehanna County jail without bail.
Timothy Sullivan, who had already left the bar, told state police he received a phone call from Gregory, who told him the pair fought and they were all leaving. Gregory and Paci left in a Jeep; Fauver left in a Subaru.
Fauver chased the couple, who were on their way to Sullivan’s home on Blaisure Road. Sullivan saw Paci’s Jeep come to a stop in front of his home and watched as Fauver rear-ended him. After Gregory climbed out of the Jeep, Fauver and Paci argued.
When Fauver pulled away, Paci gave chase north on Blaisure Road. He returned not long after, covered in blood.
“I think I killed him,” Paci told Sullivan, according to state police.
Paci went to take a shower and change his clothes. Sullivan worried what that statement meant and drove north. He found Fauver a few miles away and took him to Endless Mountain Health Systems hospital in Montrose. Fauver died at 3:30 a.m.
A preliminary hearing in Montrose District Court is scheduled for Monday, July 14.
